Visit the royal cities of historic empires travelling north from Bangkok to Chaing Mai. After that, unwind on famous Thai beaches in the southern part of the country. No matter where you are, you will enjoy great Thai cuisine and the extremely friendly Thai people.
Your Thai tour begins in the capital city Bangkok with the great historic palaces at its city centre. You’ll see the Royal Grand Palace and Wat Phra Keo with the famous Emerald Buddha statue. Next is Wat Pho with a 46-metre long statue of a reclining Buddha and Wat Arun on the other side of the Praya river. Golden Mountain with great views of central Bangkok is next.
Then take a train to Ayutthaia, capital city of the historic Siam empire that ruled the region between the fourteenth and eighteenth century. It’s full of ancient buildings and many Buddhist monasteries, from which we select the best ones for you to visit. Taking a bus further north will take you to Sukhothai, the centre of another important empire from the thirteenth to fourteenth century. A relaxed bike ride is the best way to explore its temple complex.
Chiang Mai is a charming city in far northern Thailand and has a relaxing and authentic atmosphere. Apart from yet another set of great temples at Doi Suthep, visit the great zoo and the famous Sunday market and venture into the surrounding mountains either trekking or on a 4-wheel ride.
After all this, it´s time to fly back south to enjoy the great beaches. Start in Krabi with its amazing sandy beaches such as Railey and small islands surrounded by white sand beaches. Then move on to Ko Lanta, which offers great resort hotels with direct access to the beach, where your only worries will be which place to select for dinner and choosing what to eat.
