Cigars, rum, sunshine, white sandy beaches, American veteran cars from the sixties and colonial architecture combined with a socialist republic and empty shelves in shops creates a unique place on Earth. Experience it first-hand! Cuba is much more than resort hotels in Varadero.

Havana, once called the Paris of the Caribbean, is crumbling, yet still a charming colonial city with the unforgettable atmosphere of lost fame. Lose yourself in the city centre, which is under UNESCO Heritage, enjoy bustling Malecón at night and get yourself into one of the big old cars passing through the city.

Rent a car in Havana and head to the Vinales Valley, home of the best cigar products in Cuba. A jewel among Cuban sights featuring rich vegetation, red soil and limestone rocks, it is best explored by walking. From here, drive your car along an empty highway to the Bay of Pigs. This is a place full of history and great silent beaches.

Going further east will take you to Trinidad, a colonial gem with several national parks in its neighbourhood. This includes Topes de Colantes, with several well-marked trekking routes that will take you deep into the jungle.

After all this, get behind the wheel again and drive to Cayo Coco, an island with more than 20 kilometres of world class white sandy beaches. On the way, the colours will change as you cross the sea with hundreds of flamingos walking or flying around.
